Manuka honey is a unique honey produced only in New Zealand by European honeybees pollinating the Manuka bush. It’s deemed by experts to be one of the most beneficial forms of honey on the planet. It was first produced in New Zealand in the 1830s when England bees were brought to the country, but it didn’t gain much of a following until the 1980s. Manuka honey features a rich, earthy taste. It is naturally sweet, not to mention it is loaded with beneficial properties, including methylglyoxal (MGO), which has been proven to have antibacterial activity.
